David Leaper

Poundbury Candidate for Dorchester Town Council

David has lived in Dorchester for over 20 years. He has represented the new Poundbury Ward of Dorchester Town Council for the last five years. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Chair of the Poundbury Residents’ Association, which gave him an in-depth understanding of the unique issues that affect Poundbury.

David has extensive experience in hospital management, having worked as an emeritus professor of surgery and retired consultant general surgeon. He has also been involved in local, national and international societies and associations. Currently, he works part-time as a consultant in teaching and research.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, David is an active member of the community. He is a vice president of the Dorchester Rugby Club and the Society of Dorset Men, and he chairs the Brownsword Hall Committee. He also has a passion for nature and conservation roles in the local area.
