The Liberal Democrats today called for the Chancellor to tax pollution and not people in this week's pre-budget report, and welcomed the all-party Environmental Audit Committee's backing for green taxes.
Official figures show that same-sex couples have registered 15,672 civil partnerships formed in the UK between December 2005 and the end of September 2006.
