Bullying report due

The House of Commons education and skills committee publishes a report tomorrow about the extent of bullying in schools. The work towards the report was initiated by Lib Dem MP and committee member Stephen Williams. "I hope this investigation will make a difference to the welfare of kids up and down Britain," he told PinkNews.co.uk today. "We have looked at identity-related bullying like racial, SEN (special educational needs) and homophobic bullying."

Campbell challenges Government to support the Sustainable Communities Bill

Speaking at a rally tonight to promote the Sustainable Communities Bill, Liberal Democrat Leader Menzies Campbell will challenge the Labour government to support it. The Bill, now in its Committee stage thanks to the support of opposition MPs, aims to give more power to local communities to counteract the influence of multi-national business and central government. Originally introduced by Julia Goldsworthy MP for the Lib Dems in 2002, the bill has already been defeated once by the government.

Allens West Development Plans

The new owners of the site north of Allens West Station are making plans for its future. There will be a trailer with an exhibition in the car park at Orchard Shops on Friday 30th March from noon to 6pm and on Saturday 31st March from 10am to 2pm.
