Guide dog attacked in city street
A blind woman from Derbyshire says she is devastated after her guide dog was kicked in the street. Betty Gregson, 68, from Etwall was out shopping in Derby when a boy deliberately kicked her dog Lilly.

Decision to put First Responders 'on-ice' overturned following pressure from local MP
Chief Executive of the North West Ambulance Service, John Burnside, has confirmed to local MP Tim Farron that the First Responders scheme will no longer be put 'on-ice' while a review of the scheme is carried out. The confirmation came during a meeting between Tim and John Burnside this lunchtime.

Bush is like an ostrich over Iraq says Campbell
Liberal Democrat Leader Sir Menzies Campbell as likened George Bush to an ostrich in his stance over Iraq. In a joint press conference with Tony Blair, President Bush yesterday ruled out early talks with Iran and Syria on tackling Iraq's unrest, a move called as part of a change in strategy on Iraq by a damning US report.
